Overview

Atlas Capital Group, LLC was founded in March, 2006 to invest in opportunistic, value-added real estate transactions globally. Atlas has formed strategic partnerships with institutional investors who co-invest alongside Atlas. Atlas' portfolio consists of over $2.5 billion of residential, office and retail assets in New York City, Boston, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Miami, London and Dublin. Atlas is a full service real estate investment, development and management firm. More specifically, we specialize in repurposing and repositioning existing properties, as well as assets with specific issues such as incomplete construction, leasing risk, legal disputes, and inefficient expense management. Our in-house expertise allow us to resolve these issues and thus to create value. These disciplines include property management, construction, leasing, accounting, legal and financial analysis.

Jeffrey A. Goldberger Principal

Mr. Goldberger has over 25 years of experience in the real estate industry. From 1988-1996, Mr. Goldberger was the founding Principal and President of JAG Capital, a boutique privately held real estate investment company which specialized in value-added real estate equity investments and distressed debt opportunities. In 1997, Mr. Goldberger became a Principal and the President of The Witkoff Group, LLC, a full service real estate investment firm. Under Mr. Goldberger’s guidance, from 1997-2002, The Witkoff Group, LLC acquired approximately 15 million sq. ft. of commercial real estate. In 2002, Mr. Goldberger joined UBS Investment Bank to develop and manage the real estate equity investment platform within the Global Commercial Real Estate Group. From 2002-2006, until the formation of Atlas, Mr. Goldberger invested UBS’ capital on a principal basis in opportunistic / value-added equity investments and high leverage debt instruments. After receiving a BA in Economics from Tufts University in 1984, Mr. Goldberger earned an MBA in Finance from the NYU Stern Business School in 1986.


Andrew B. Cohen Principal

Mr. Cohen has over 20 years of experience in the real estate industry. Prior to the formation of Atlas, Mr. Cohen was a Managing Director in the Global Commercial Real Estate Group at UBS Investment Bank. Mr. Cohen joined UBS Investment Bank in 2001 and was responsible for the origination, structuring and closing of large and complex debt instruments as well as the sale of the group’s investments into the capital markets. Mr. Cohen teamed up with Mr. Goldberger in 2002 to develop the real estate equity investment platform at UBS Investment Bank. From 2002-2006, Mr. Cohen invested UBS’ capital on a principal basis in opportunistic / valued-added equity investments and high leverage debt instruments. Prior to joining UBS Investment Bank, Mr. Cohen was a practicing real estate attorney at Schulte, Roth & Zabel LLP where he structured and closed complex debt and equity real estate transactions while representing real estate developers, real estate funds and investment banks. Mr. Cohen graduated from Princeton University in 1989 and from Fordham University School of Law in 1994.


Jacob S. Wood Managing Director - Acquisitions

Mr. Wood joined Atlas in 2007, he is responsible for all U.S. acquisitions including research, financial analysis and projections. Mr. Wood began his career at Atlas as a Senior Acquisitions Analyst and Asset Manager. Prior to joining Atlas, Mr. Wood was a Senior Financial Analyst at The JBG Companies, where he underwrote commercial, residential, hotel and mixed-use real estate investments and was responsible for asset management functions. Mr. Wood graduated from Dartmouth College where he graduated with a degree in Economics.


Christopher W. Flynn Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Flynn joined Atlas in 2006, he is responsible for all accounting functions at the corporate and partnership levels. Prior to joining Atlas, he was a Vice President at Vornado Realty Trust. Mr. Flynn was responsible for accounting, SEC compliance, management reporting and financial analysis for joint ventures. Before joining Vornado, he had been Director of Financial Reporting at Haights Cross Communications, Inc. Prior to that, he was with Ernst & Young, LLP. Mr. Flynn graduated from SUNY Binghamton with a B.S. in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).


Jay Fehskens U.S. Commercial Asset Manager

Mr. Fehskens joined Atlas in 2014, he is responsible for commercial property operations including market analysis, leasing, tenant matters, expense management, budgeting and reporting. Prior to joining Atlas, he was an Asset Manager at Time Equities, Inc. where he was primarily responsible for managing the Manhattan office portfolio, serving as project manager and investment analyst. Mr. Fehskens graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, received a graduate certificate from Maryland Bankers School and earned a Master’s in Real Estate Finance from New York University Schack Institute of Real Estate. Mr. Fehskens holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst and LEED AP designations.


Stephen Nuckel Director of Development and Construction

Mr. Nuckel joined Atlas in 2013, he is responsible for Atlas’ development and construction projects on the East Coast. Mr. Nuckel has over 30 years of development and construction experience. Prior to joining Atlas, Mr. Nuckel was Owner & President of White Birch Builders, an Owner’s Representative and Construction Consultant for residential and hotel projects in New York City and Canada. Before that, he owned Nuckel Construction Corp., a general contracting firm specializing in healthcare projects. Prior to that, Mr. Nuckel was a Vice President of Construction at Harry Macklowe Real Estate responsible for residential, office, and hotel projects. Mr. Nuckel graduated from SUNY Farmingdale with an AAS in Construction Technology.


Jackie Renton U.S. Commercial Asset Manager

Ms. Renton joined Atlas in 2014. She is responsible for managing commercial assets within the Atlas portfolio including overseeing leasing, property operations, capital projects and investor relationships. Prior to joining Atlas, Ms. Renton was a Principal at AION Partners where she led the asset management division while also focusing on managing relationships with individual and institutional equity partners and new property acquisitions. Ms. Renton was previously a member of JPMorgan's Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities Large Loan Structuring Group. Ms. Renton received an M.B.A. with honors in Real Estate and Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated cum laude from Duke University with a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering.


Louis B. Blum Director of Construction & Building Operations

Mr. Blum joined Atlas in 2008, he is responsible for all construction, capital improvement and renovation projects as well as the repair and maintenance of building infrastructure and systems. Mr. Blum has over 24 years of project management experience in office, residential and retail construction projects. Prior to joining Atlas, Mr. Blum was a Senior Project Manager/Account Executive at Vanguard Construction & Development. Mr. Blum graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Architecture and from Clemson University where he earned a Master’s Degree in Architecture.


Marisa Fontaine Director of Architecture & Design

Ms. Fontaine joined Atlas in 2015, she is responsible for the creative direction of projects including managing and directing project architectural and design teams throughout the design and construction phases. Prior to joining Atlas, Ms. Fontaine was an Associate at Architecture+Information, where she was a Senior Project Manager for core and shell and interior projects as well as a team member of the leadership structure within the firm. Ms. Fontaine is a registered architect in New York state and has over 15 years of experience in the field of architecture as a designer, project manager and team leader with a focus on adaptive reuse in all sectors including core and shell work, corporate interiors, healthcare, retail, hospitality and residential. Ms. Fontaine graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a Bachelors in Architecture and Fine Arts.


Perry Incantalupo Director of Property Management

Mr. Incantalupo joined Atlas in 2013, he is responsible for East Coast commercial property operations including tenant matters, vendor relations, expense management and budgeting. Prior to joining Atlas, he was a General Manager at Newmark Grubb Knight Frank. Prior to that, he was a Real Estate Manager at CBRE. Mr. Incantalupo graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and received a Master’s in Real Estate Finance from New York University.


Erin H. Gabrielli Director

Ms. Gabrielli joined Atlas in 2006, she is responsible for the firm's day-to-day operations. She is involved in developing strategic management initiatives, liaising with project teams, overseeing capital expenditures and legal coordination. Prior to that, she was the firm's Residential Asset Manager, responsible for residential property operations including marketing, sales, leasing, tenant matters and legal coordination. Ms. Gabrielli graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Information Management & Technology.


Heather Restino, CPA, CGMA Controller

Ms. Restino joined Atlas in 2016. She is responsible for accounting, financial reporting and treasury functions across the portfolio. Prior to joining Atlas, she was the Corporate Controller for the LeFrak Organization where she was responsible for accounting, cash management and financial reporting for numerous property management, leasing, construction and corporate entities. Before joining LeFrak, Ms. Restino held financial leadership positions with the Elad Group and DMB Associates, both privately held real estate investment and development companies. Ms. Restino graduated magna cum laude from the University of Richmond with a B.S. in Business Administration and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).


Charlie Boutwell Associate - Acquisitions

Mr. Boutwell joined Atlas in 2014, he is responsible for underwriting new investments across all product types and markets in addition to conducting due diligence and assisting with the closing of transactions. Prior to joining Atlas, Mr. Boutwell was an Acquisitions Analyst at Beacon Capital Partners in Boston, where he underwrote office investments for Beacon’s Fund VI primarily in New York and Denver and was responsible for a wide variety of portfolio management and analysis. Mr. Boutwell graduated from Harvard College in 2010 with a degree in Government.


Adam Greenbaum Acquisitions Analyst

Mr. Greenbaum joined Atlas in 2016, he is responsible for underwriting new investments across all product types and markets in addition to conducting due diligence and assisting with the closing of transactions. Prior to joining Atlas, Mr. Greenbaum spent three summers working for Cantor Fitzgerald in its CMBS origination team, Apollo Global Management in its real estate private equity group, and Morgan Stanley in its healthcare investment banking division. Mr. Greenbaum graduated from Cornell University in 2016 with a degree in Applied Economics & Management.


Gene A. Daversa Construction Manager

Mr. Daversa joined Atlas in 2012, he is responsible for the on-site construction management of Atlas’ capital improvement and renovation projects. Mr. Daversa has over 15 years of construction and facilities management experience in residential, office, hospitality and retail projects. Prior to joining Atlas, Mr. Daversa was a Construction Manager at B&B Construction. Mr. Daversa graduated from Ithaca College with a B.S in Business Administration.

Jenni Harris Director of Property Management

Ms. Harris joined Atlas in 2015, she is responsible for West Coast property management operations including tenant and vendor relations, expense management and budgeting, tenant improvement management, capital project and leasing oversight. Prior to joining Atlas, Ms. Harris was a Portfolio Manager at Douglas Emmett, with the responsibility of overseeing management, leasing, re-positioning and acquisitions of Class A office assets in the Beverly Hills, Century City, and Brentwood submarkets in Los Angeles. In addition, Ms. Harris served on the Building Owners and Managers' Greater Los Angeles Chapter's prestigious TOBY committee for 5 years. Ms. Harris graduated from California State University, Northridge with a degree in Journalism in 1998.


Scott Denham Director of Development and Construction

Mr. Denham joined Atlas in 2014, he is responsible for Atlas’ development and construction projects in Los Angeles. Mr. Denham has over 15 years of experience in the acquisition, investment, development and construction of mixed-use, urban-infill and renovation projects. Prior to joining Atlas, Mr. Denham was a Senior VP of Development & Construction at EVOQ Properties, where he was responsible for all capital improvement projects, including the adaptive reuse of existing buildings, tenant improvements, land development and rehabilitation of operating assets. Prior he was a Vice President of Investment & Development at CIM Group and a Project Manager at JH Snyder, Co. Mr. Denham graduated from Dartmouth College with a B. A. in Engineering and Columbia University with a Masters in Architecture.


Andrea Ramella Director of Development & Construction

Mrs. Ramella joined Atlas in 2016, she is responsible for Atlas’ development and construction projects in Los Angeles. Mrs. Ramella brings over 10 years of experience in the fields of construction, program and facilities management. Prior to joining Atlas, Mrs. Ramella was part of the development management team dedicated to the 73 story Wilshire Grand Center in downtown Los Angeles. There she worked on entitlement coordination, design and cost management for the $1B development. As the Director of Planning and Project Management at Pomona College, Mrs. Ramella was in charge of facility improvements and capital plan developments that helped earn Pomona College the #1 spot on Forbes list of America’s Top Colleges in 2015. Mrs. Ramella graduated from the University of La Verne with a B.S. in Sociology. She is a LEED AP and certified Project Management Professional (PMP).


Adam Lev Commercial Asset Manager

Mr. Lev joined Atlas in 2016. He is responsible for managing the Row DTLA including overseeing leasing, property operations, market analysis, capital projects and investor relationships. Prior to joining Atlas, Mr. Lev was a Development Manager at The Ratkovich Company with responsibilities at The Bloc, 5900 Wilshire, the Hercules Campus, The Alhambra and 800 Wilshire. Prior to The Ratkovich Company, Mr. Lev was a Project Manager at Prudential Development. Mr. Lev received a Master of Real Estate Development from the Sol Price School of Public Policy at USC and graduated from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Management.


Vivienne Kwong Commercial Asset Manager

Ms. Kwong joined Atlas in 2016. She is responsible for managing commercial assets within the Atlas portfolio, including overseeing repositioning and redevelopment projects, as well as executing value-add investment strategies. Prior to joining Atlas, Ms. Kwong was a General Manager at Equity Office, an affiliate of Blackstone, where she oversaw a 4-million square feet office portfolio covering assets in Southern California, Denver, Seattle and Las Vegas, and was responsible for property operations, leasing, and new property acquisitions. Ms. Kwong received a B.A. in Business Economics from UCLA and holds the CCIM and CPM designations.


Tim K. Nguyen Director of Acquisitions

Mr. Nguyen joined Atlas in 2012, he is responsible for acquisition financial analysis, research and projections. Prior to joining Atlas, Mr. Nguyen was an Associate at Cushman & Wakefield Sonnenblick Goldman. Prior to that, he was an Analyst in the Specialty Finance & Mortgage REIT Group at Merrill Lynch. Mr. Nguyen graduated from the University of California Berkeley, Haas School of Business and from Columbia University, where he obtained Master of Science in Real Estate Development.


Blair Sorby Senior Project Manager

Mr. Sorby joined Atlas in 2015, he is responsible for construction projects for ROW DTLA in Los Angeles. Prior to joining Atlas, Mr. Sorby was Senior Project Manager at JRK where he was part of the restructure team of AIG North American Portfolio and Disney’s renovation of their campus in Glendale, California. Prior to that, he was Senior Director of Construction for Aimco. Mr. Sorby has over 15 years of experience within the Construction and Development Industry specializing in both commercial and residential properties.


James Hardy Assistant Controller

Mr. Hardy joined Atlas in 2015. He is responsible for financial reporting, internal controls and treasury functions. Prior to joining Atlas, Mr. Hardy was a Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, working in its United States and Australian practices, where he provided assurance services to real estate investment advisors, private equity real estate funds, and REITs. Mr. Hardy graduated from the University of San Francisco with a B.S. in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).


Al Jordan Senior Property Manager

Mr. Jordan joined Atlas in 2016. He is responsible for the day-to-day property operations at ROW DTLA, including tenant improvements, customer service, tenant/vendor relations, expense management and budgeting. Prior to joining Atlas, Mr. Jordan managed properties for Commercial Office REITs in the Los Angeles area. He was a Property Manager at Douglas Emmett with responsibilities of overseeing the day-to-day operations of office properties located in Beverly Hills and Century City submarkets. Prior to that, he worked at Arden Realty, Inc. managing commercial office properties in the Long Beach, El Segundo, Santa Monica and Brentwood submarkets. Mr. Jordan graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in Sociology.


Israel Rodriguez Chief Engineer

Mr. Rodriguez joined Atlas in 2016. With over 20 years of experience in maintenance and operations, he is responsible for all facility and maintenance operations at ROW DTLA, and other assets totaling over 2.4 million square feet. Prior to joining Atlas, Mr. Rodriguez was a Chief Engineer at Douglas Emmett Management, where he was responsible for a five (5) Class-A building portfolio in Brentwood California. Prior to that, he was Chief Engineer at Jones Lang LaSalle responsible for 1.2 million square feet of Class-A office space and multi-use tilt-up industrial properties in Los Angeles.
